Here’s an idea begun by Kelli Russell Agodon, editor of Crab Creek Review, at her Book of Kells: a book giveaway for National Poetry Month. Kelli has invited us poetry bloggers to offer two free book to our readers, one our own and one by another poet.
So here’s my deal:
On April 30, I will give one lucky reader a copy of my own two chapbooks — since I only have chapbooks, I’ll send both of them — Dance the Black-Eyed Girl and My Will & Testament is on the Desk and another a copy of Allison Adelle Hedge Coke’s Blood Run.
Published by Salt, Blood Run is Coke’s plea for preservation of
. . . the remarkable ruins of the Indigenous North American city of Blood Run and the sacred remains she guards there in mounded tombs. The persona poems herein emanate its character embraced in architectural accomplishment designed in accordance with the sun and moon and multitudes of stars above.
You can read sample poems at this link.
To be eligible for this giveaway, just leave a comment to this post. On May 1, I will pick two winners using this Random Number Generator. One winner will receive my chapbooks and the other will receive a copy of Blood Run.
I’ll mail the books to you anywhere and I’ll pay the postage.
Here are some other poetry bloggers who are participating.
National Poetry Month Free Book Giveaway
You can find a master list of participants on the sidebar at The Book of Kells and Cati Porter, editor of poemeleon, will be posting a list of contributors who are participating. I’ll get you that link when I have it.
I’ll leave a copy of the icon prominently displayed so people can find this post.
It was difficult for me to choose which book I’d give away. I’ve read so many good ones lately.
