    As a resident of Maryland and its politically drenched atmosphere(Washington DC), the partial abolition of the death penalty is great news. Maryland, in particular, a Democratic state (Republican governors are rare) with a very liberal population should have been more liberal than NY or CA, but is disappointedly conservative and misery. Therefore, the latest act is especially welcome.
