There’s a new blogger in town!

Her name is Andrea O’Brien and she also happens to be an excellent poet.

You can check out some of her writing at her website, andreaO’Brien.

And follow her blogging at Have Passport, Will Ramble. I fully expect this to be a star of a personal blog, right up there with Via Negativa, I See Invisible People, Windows Toward the World, Pocahontas County Fare, Heraclitean Fire, and well, all the blogs listed in my sidebar. Wonderful how the world has so many voices, each unique. You’ll find Andrea’s on the list now too.

Here’s Andrea’s introductory post, The Journ(al/ey) Begins:

A friend suggested I try blogging, and since she put this idea in my head I can’t get it out, no matter how I shake it about. I know, I know, as if the world needs another blog, another voice fogging up the windows of the world. I think what’s different is that I need my voice. I need a forum where I can write randomly and track what is on my mind. Paper notebooks serve my poetry and fiction very well, but blogging might be a good way to explore other writing. The writing process, writing prompts, my wayward garden, my travels (both real and metaphorical) are top on my list right now. Let the rambling begin.

What philosophy do you follow? (v1.03)
You scored as a Existentialism
Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.

“Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”
“It is up to you to give [life] a meaning.”
–Jean-Paul Sartre

“It is man’s natural sickness to believe that he possesses the Truth.”
–Blaise Pascal

Here’s the quiz.

____________

I had to take a tie-breaker and choose between pleasure and meaning. I chose meaning so I think Existentialism really should be on top of this list. And just to be pissy, I’m not sure how I can manage to be “a Existentialism.” L’existentialisme c’est moi” I guess.

How do I square this with being a Social Justice Crusader?

At least I’m not a egotism.

Found this at NYCWeboy.
