Loude sing cuckoo

Harvesting spaghetti

It’s April 1, a day associated with fools since Geoffrey Chaucer wrote his Nun’s Priest’s Tale around 1400 CE. All Fool’s Day is probably a remnant of the time when the year began with the vernal equinox. Read about spaghetti trees and left-handed Whoppers at the Museum of Hoaxes.

Today also marks the beginning of National Poetry Month. Heretofore, I’ve celebrated by posting the work of a different poet every day. This year I’ll leave that work to others: Dead Mule, Poetry Daily, Knopf. Or check This Day in History on the sidebar to revisit my past efforts.

Update: It is also NaPoWriMo. Participate if you will. I’ve already blown it.
