Rosalie sends the link to this YouTube video, which she hopes will remind us old-timers what we’re here for:

Meanwhile, high school students from the Presidential Scholars Class of 2007 have told Mr. Bush:

We have been told that we represent the best and brightest of our nation. Therefore, we believe we have a responsibility to voice our convictions. We do not want American to represent torture.

And Donna sends a link to a photogallery of some Green Roofs around the world.

Alan & Rosalie — It’s possible that some one like Severn Cullis-Suzuki should be allowed to vote past 12. Here is more information about this video that Rosalie supplied to me on request. I apologize for not posting it sooner. Distractions… I must say, though, Rosalie that I’m also quite proud of my own children, though some of their friends have odd ideas.

The speech was given at the 1992 Earth Summit held in Rio de Janero. The articulate young girl who spoke was 12 then. I have included a website with a recent interview with her below.

    Here’s the interview http://www.collagefoundation.org/people/people-scsuzuki.html

Here’s a site about youth and leadership that I found encouraging:

I have great faith and hope in the youngsters. I think we’re in good hands, especially when I look at my daughters, their friends, and the other young people I work with daily. This is one of the reasons I say that I remain encouraged in these most difficult times.

I don’t thnk the organization (ECO) is still in existance. When I googled ECO, this is one interesting site I came across: http://www.oneearth.org/

Apparently many environmental organizations around the world use these initials in their name.

I just googled Severn Cullis-Suzuki. When you see who her parents are, this all begins to make sense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severn_Cullis-Suzuki
