Home! Enjoying my first good cup of coffee in 5 days. My quest for a cup of any kind of coffee today was enough to make a statue weep.
I got my books home all right — not over weight. In the end, I didn’t mail them to myself because I was daunted by the logistics of finding a post office and a mailer on Saturday when everything on campus was shut down (it’s summer session) and downtown was five blocks away. Anyway it was a bonding and busy day and I didn’t want to interrupt it.
I will have more to say about my experience I’m sure but right now I think it’s time for a nap. I got up at 3:30 to catch a shuttle to the airport at 4:30 and I’ve been on the road ever since.
P.S. One very nice thing about West Chester is that they make sure everybody has a shuttle ride to the airport or train station, no matter how early the connection. The assistant director of the program herself drove us at 4:30 this morning.
P.P.S. The Ohio River Valley looks very droughty from the air. The trees look all right but the pastures/hay fields look thin and colorless. It was a bit distressing to look upon.
