A Standing Woman

I have written about my experience as A Standing Woman over at The Peace Tree.

While you’re over there be sure to take time to read the other posts.

Rosalie, I didn’t stand by the old tank-like thing in the park. The symbolism was right but in the end I couldn’t bring myself to be near such a thing on such a beautiful day. Nevertheless, I sent you thoughts of love.

You can read how other women experienced this day at this link.

And I included you in my dream for a world of peace. I read a few of the comments posted at the Standing Women site and noticed how many women wrote of becoming so in touch with the beauty around them that traffic noises and other distractions disappeared for the time they stood in silence. I had the same experience as I listened to the water rushing under the bridge below me and the birds singing as they darted from tree to tree in the sunny blue sky. I kept hearing in my head the words from an Indigo Girls song: Remember, this is how it should be. (Fugitive, Amy Ray)

Thank you, Rosalie. I am blessed that you thought of me while standing on your bridge. And I will do my best to continue to be as dangerous as I can be.
