Catching Up at Open Source

Radio Open Source has featured several great programs lately that you can download as podcasts or listen to streaming.

The Poetry of Franz Wright aired on July 20. It features Wright himself, reading and talking about his poetry, along with Fanny Howe and New Yorker editor Alice Quinn.

On David and Goliath, which aired July 26, considers the “folklore and mythology” of the giant-killer in a conversation with former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky, former war correspondent Chris Hedges, and Psychiatrist Samuel Pauker.

The broadcast of August 3, Israel and Lebanon: Refuge in Fiction, is a conversation with two writers: the Israeli Etgar Keret and the Palestinean Samir El-Yousef.

Many other good broadcasts lately on subjects such as the Middle East, China, and India, but these three are particularly literary and so of particular interest to me.
