Ulysses May Not Find His Way Home
A message from Walt Mates, owner of Odyssey Books in Midway:
Odyssey Books is closing at the end of August. While I appreciate so much your patronage and support over the last two years, the volume of sales has just not been adequate to sustain the business.
This Saturday from Noon till 9pm and Sunday from Noon till 4pm (August 5th and 6th) there will be an inventory liquidation sale. All in-stock books will be 50% off the list price. Special orders, previously discounted books and consigned books will be excluded, as will art and jewelry. Book Club Bucks will not apply. All sales will be final–no returns, exchanges, or refunds.
I regret that Odyssey Books must close because I still believe that the greater Midway community deserves its own bookshop. I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know so many of you. Bookselling is first and foremost a people business. That has been the best part of this journey and what I will miss the most.
