I was too clever with my cleaver and Exploded the Dog over at the home of Billy the Blogging Poet. Fortunately (whew!) this is a metaphorical explosion, because while I’m a cat person, I have no prediliction for canine blood and guts. You’ll find “Sam the Real Exploding Dog” behind the link.

Our National Poet Laureate Ted Kooser’s free newspaper column, American Life in Poetry, can be found at the link.
Although Kooser calls it a column, it is in fact a selection of poems from American poets with a brief introduction by Kooser.
American Life in Poetry provides newspapers and online publications with a free weekly column featuring contemporary American poems. The sole mission of this project is to promote poetry: America Life in Poetry seeks to create a vigorous presence for poetry in our culture.
I’ve seen these poems show up in a number of newspapers and on some blogs here and there, as for example, the dunefan, whose blog tapped mine this morning. If you aren’t seeing these in your local paper, however, you can click through the link and find the entire archive.
