Inscape Reading

InscapeMorehead State University’s Fine Arts Showcase will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Claypool-Young Art Building.

The activity, presented by the Caudill College of Humanities, will feature the presentation of literary and art works that have been selected for inclusion in Inscape, the campus visual and literary arts magazine.

Copies of the 2006 spring edition of Inscape will be available at the showcase.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include live music and refreshments.

I have two poems in this year’s issue, “In the Kitchen” and “Cleaning the Silver,” and I plan to be one of the readers. So if you’re in the neighborhood, come on over.

Congratulations on your forthcoming work in Inscape! I just sent you an email congratulating you on the Joy Bale Boone Prize. It’s getting like “I bless you”s when someone is in a sneezing fit. It’s difficult to get them all in for each sneeze. I think I’m just going to give you monthly congrats. You are on a roll!

Thank you, Mark, very much. I think my roll is about to lose momentum now, stutter to a stop. And, in a way, I’m ready for that. A poet should be in her room, writing poems.

The only thing more exhausting than failure is success. Resting for a bit on your laurels is most refreshing.
