Kentucky’s Civil War

Over at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History next Sunday (October 30), you can attend a free panel discussion by several contributors to the new anthology Kentucky’s Civil War 1861-1865.

This book contains 50 articles that originally appeared in Back Home in Kentucky magazine. Articles by 30 different authors detail the 11 major battles fought in Kentucky. The book also contains an original 4-color fold-out map detailing these battles as well as skirmishes, historic sites, forts, cemeteries, railroads, and raids by John Hunt Morgan.

Panelists for next Sunday’s program include James Klotter, State Historian and Professor of History at Georgetown College, and Richard Taylor, former Kentucky Poet Laureate.

The free program begins at 2:00 pm. Civil war era music by the Cumberlands, refreshments, and a book signing follow.

Thanks for the heads up, Sherry. I have huge admiration for John Hunt Morgan and his wild and reckless band. I’m going to try to be there.
