    Thanks to Fred First at Fragments from Floyd, for the link to this NPR Driveway Moment in which Terry Gross interviews Lee Maynard. Fred is another Maynard fan.

    He’s done some nice journalling about Hindman. You’ll find a photo of picking and singing on the front porch here and a photo of Hindman’s main drag here . Hard right in the latter photo is the Quiltmaker Inn where Georgia and I stayed.

    Some new comments for my To Be Appalachian post – the post that will not die – including some words from Fred and a poem from Charlie Whitt.

    “A Dangerous Spot in the Aegean Sea,” a short story by fellow workshopper Laura Weddle can be found in the current issue of Coffee Talk Quarterly. Copies are still available at Joseph-Beth and the University of Kentucky bookstore in Lexington.
