Spider with Poem

GOLDEN GARDEN SPIDER
She doesn’t sing like the cricket
She doesn’t fidget like the fly
She doesn’t flutter like the moth
She sits at the center —
midnight black, October gold —
She sits —
a stasis of abdomen and legs
She sits
and waits
for those who fidget and flutter and fly.
